The narrator in several places in Good Morning Diego Garcia notes that she kept a trip for her. It should be comprehensive because the descriptions of the people they meet and the scenes they see are wonderfully described, making the narrator's adventures become so real to their readers.
Although the narrator and her husband have never carried a yacht before, they are initially thrilled about the possibility of traveling on a yacht to various destinations around the Indian Ocean. However, they discover that the trip will take place during the monsoon season, and that their trip will not be as enjoyable as they expected.
Along with their travels, the narrator recounts her fascination with Edgar Cayce's books, the importance of his dreams and her own. She also asks philosophical questions, sometimes, for example, asking why cows in India are considered sacred, not human.
